Live Where the Champions Play: The Old Course at Broken Sound Club

Tucked away in an oak-lined setting just minutes from Broken Sound Club’s gates, you’ll discover an unparalleled golfer’s sanctuary.

Home to the PGA Tour Champions Season Opener for 17 consecutive years (2007–2023), The Old Course at Broken Sound Club is a secluded 18-hole course designed by industry leaders Joe Lee (1978), Gene Bates (2004), and Rees Jones (2022). Hidden in the heart of Boca Raton, this golfer’s sanctuary offers the camaraderie and ambiance you would expect in a traditional golf club in an unexpected private place.

Reminiscent of North Carolina’s Pinehurst area, the course is set against a backdrop of woods, stone bridges, wildlife, lakes, and tranquil lagoons. The Northern course style, with its varied elevation and eighty-three bunkers, tests golfers of all levels. Although the greens feature challenging putting surfaces, they’ve earned a reputation as the best on the Champions Tour, praised by both officials and players for their exceptional quality.

The only community with its own private experience offers members an intimate golf club ambiance and limited membership.

Players can take dead aim at the fairway bunkers with their tee shots to set up their second shot. Longer hitters will want to aim right or cut the corner to avoid driving through the fairway. Hazards line the right side of the hole from 150 yards out so make sure your second shots are dialed in. Approach shots will want to find this raised green as the entire circumference slopes down and away.
